Why Changing the Filters Is Important?

One of the biggest problems that home owners have with their heating and cooling system is their filters! Nor changing them on a regular basis can lead to over heating of the heat exchanger or compressor. Changing your filter in your furnace or air handler is just as important as changing the oil in your car. Don't do it and it will shorten the life of your heating and cooling system. Not using filters is just as bad. The dust particles will insulate the inner working parts of your heating and cooling system insulating the blower motor, heat exchanger, A/C coil, causing them to over heat. Because dust is combustible it becomes a fire hazard.
